Wimbledon College of Art – UAL
A new foyer and entrance at Wimbledon College of Art opened in March 2006. The construction forms the main entrance to the internationally acclaimed school, and provides a foyer for the gallery, theatre and studios beyond. It is a place of exhibition and welcome, linking to newly refurbished gallery, theatre and studio spaces behind. A shop window offering views to the interior and the opportunity to display living work in fine art, sculpture, costume, theatre and media design. To take a tour of the building, click on the image.
In September 2008 the theatre reopened after a refurbishment and alterations which included a new mezzanine, new lift access, an enlarged control room and gantries, and the provision of a new film theatre. The project and introduced natural light and ventilation to the theatre space and allows for the first time theatre in the round as well as in proscenium format.
