Katia studied at University College Dublin and at University of Cambridge where she completed the MPhil Environmental Design in Architecture in 2010. She has a keen interest in sustainability, particularly in relation to construction and materiality. She participated in a two week long Brick Tectonics workshop in Netherlands in August 2008, and assisted in organising an international dry stone walling workshop in Connemara, Ireland, where she learned Irish dry stone walling skills from a certified craftsman, resulting in the construction of a permanent dry stone structure in Tully, Connemara. Her essay ‘Light in Sverre Fehn’s Architecture’ will be published in Scroope Architectural Journal 2010.
She joined MBA in August 2010.
